1. What StudiesShow Does

StudiesShow helps you explore research journals explained in simple words. You can choose topics, swipe through journals, save what matters to you, and (if subscribed) listen to audio versions.

2. Information We Collect

We collect only the information needed to operate the app and provide its features.

A. Account Information

When you create an account, we collect:

• Email address (required)
• Name (if you choose to provide it)
• Profile photo (optional, if uploaded)
• Birthday or age information (optional, if provided)

Passwords are securely managed through our authentication provider. We do not store readable passwords.

B. App Activity

To power core features, we store:

• Studies you swipe through
• Studies you save
• Your selected interests
• Streak information
• Library interactions and filters
• Subscription status (active or inactive)

This information is tied to your account to make the app function properly.

C. Purchases and Subscriptions

StudiesShow offers an optional paid subscription ("Plus").

All payments are processed securely through Apple's In-App Purchase system. We do not collect or store your credit card number or full payment details.

We use RevenueCat to manage subscription validation and access control. RevenueCat processes limited purchase-related information (such as subscription status and product identifiers) in order to determine whether your account has an active subscription.

We receive confirmation of subscription status only.

D. Customer Support

If you contact us through the app or by email, we collect the information you provide in your message in order to respond and assist you.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Create and manage your account
• Save your preferences and selected interests
• Enable swiping, saving, streak tracking, and library features
• Provide subscription-based features
• Respond to support requests
• Improve the reliability and performance of the app
• Comply with legal obligations

We do not sell your personal information.

4. Tracking and Advertising

StudiesShow does not use third-party advertising networks and does not track users across apps or websites owned by other companies.

We do not use advertising identifiers.

If this ever changes, we will request permission through Apple's App Tracking Transparency system and update this policy.

5. Data Sharing

We share limited information with trusted service providers only when necessary to operate the app.

These may include:

• Supabase (database, authentication, storage)
• RevenueCat (subscription management)
• Apple (in-app purchase processing)
• AI and voice providers (for audio generation features, where applicable)

These providers are required to use data only to perform services on our behalf and in accordance with applicable privacy laws.

We may also disclose information if required by law.

6. Data Retention

We retain personal information:

• For as long as your account remains active
• As needed to provide app functionality
• As required to comply with legal obligations

If you delete your account, we will delete or de-identify your personal information unless retention is required for legal or security reasons.

7. Your Choices and Rights

You can:

• Update your profile information in the app
• Modify your selected interests
• Delete your account in the StudiesShow app by navigating to Settings → Delete Account.

In-app deletion permanently removes account data associated with the service (profile, interests, saved studies, etc.), subject to limited legal or security retention where required.

Following account deletion, limited technical logs or encrypted backups may persist briefly in backup storage until routinely overwritten. If you registered using Sign in with Apple, you may also manage or revoke app permissions in your iOS Device Settings (Apple ID → Sign in with Apple).

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, or California, you may have additional rights under applicable privacy laws, including the right to request access, correction, or deletion of your personal data.

8. Children's Privacy

StudiesShow is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact us and we will take appropriate action.

9. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards to protect your information, including secure data storage and encrypted communication.

No system can be completely secure, but we take data protection seriously.

10. Changes to This Policy

If our data practices change, we will update this Privacy Policy and reflect those changes in the App Store privacy disclosures.

The updated version will include a revised "Last updated" date.
